My name is Kathryn Rubidoux, I am a 42 year old painter and photographer. I have lived in Western Colorado for the past 12 years, prior to that I lived in Maryland, New York, and California. I studied film, video, and photography at the University of Maryland, then upon moving to Colorado, I attended Mesa State for a degree in the Studio Arts.
For 5 1/2 years, I worked for school photographers in their processing lab, designing virtual backgrounds, flyers, announcements, and composites, while also seeing to the post processing of tens of thousands of photographs. During this time I made the transition from film to digital, and I am still using my starter camera, a Nikon D60. Eventually I want to upgrade, but financially I have not been able to do so just yet. The cameras keep getting better and better, so it’s been a fun wait while watching the technology evolve.

I’m sorry Karel, I haven’t felt much like blogging lately. You are always welcome to email me though. I need to design a portfolio site, so my attention has been there. I may end up splitting the blog into parts since I feel like I’ve posted myself into a dead end.
